Gibson’s recent overhaul of the Modern Collection is a welcome change - the newly introduced Les Paul Modern Figured model is definitely an “upgrade” to the previous Les Paul Modern models with solid-colored tops.
Looks are everything - and this one doesn’t disappoint! The Cobalt Burst finish is a standout among Gibson’s offerings, and it pairs nicely with the AAA Figured maple underneath. Sonically, Gibson’s BurstBucker Pro pickups provide the muscle and flexibility with 4 push/pull potentiometers - 2 for coil taps, 1 for phase inversion, and 1 for true bypass direct to bridge. The modern heel contour scoops out the normal blocky heel design to allow soloists even easier access to the upper registers of the Ebony fretboard.
