Gibson USA has been making most recent Signature models as normal production models, but for this Mark Morton Signature Les Paul Modern, they’ve only created a limited edition of 350 worldwide. Mark’s signature model is a pretty sweet one too - the translucent ebony burst satin finish is distinctive, and the chrome accents compliment it well. It is also equipped with new exclusive “Mark Morton Signature Lead/Rhythm Humbuckers” from the Gibson Pickup Shop (the pickups are passive - no batteries required). Locking Grover tuners ensure rock-solid tuning stability, and the guitar is a stunner overall.

In “Excellent” condition. Uncased only for photos. This is not the finest example of Gibson’s QC - there is a fat line which appears faded on the back of the body. There is an impression on the bass side of the neck. There is residual black finish around the nut/binding area, and the treble side of the nut looks sloppily cut. Includes all pictured case candy, accessories, and case.

Mark Morton is an American GRAMMY®-nominated musician who is the lead guitarist and one of the founding members of the groove metal band Lamb of God. Mark is best known for his bold and potent, yet melodic lead guitar playing that incorporates elements of groove metal, thrash, and death metal.
That same boldness is captured in the new Mark Morton Les Paul Modern Quilt. Mark’s new signature guitar features a striking AAA quilted maple top that is paired with a mahogany body with Ultra Modern weight relief that makes it a joy to play for hours on end. The mahogany neck has a SlimTaper™ profile and is equipped with a Modern Contoured Heel for exceptional access to the upper frets. The fretboard is ebony, has a compound radius, and is outfitted with 22 medium jumbo frets and adorned with mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays. The Mark Morton Les Paul Modern Quilt is powered by a pair of Mark Morton signature humbucker™ pickups that were handcrafted by the Gibson Pickup Shop to deliver Mark’s signature sound. The rhythm pickup has moderate, Patent Applied For-class windings with a ceramic magnet for increased clarity and output, while the lead pickup has higher output windings with a ceramic magnet for increased presence and output. The pickups are connected to a three-way pickup selector switch and hand-wired to individual volume and tone controls, with Orange Drop® capacitors used for the tone controls.
The Mark Morton Les Paul Modern Quilt is finished in a smooth satin nitrocellulose lacquer, and the Translucent Ebony Burst Satin finish beautifully complements the AAA quilted maple top and is highlighted by multiple chrome hardware accents, including Grover® Rotomatic®, locking tuners with Keystone buttons, a chrome jack plate cover, black with chrome trim cover pickup mounting rings, and chrome pickup covers. The truss rod cover features a reproduction of Mark’s signature, and a pack of Mark’s signature Stringjoy strings is also included, along with a Gibson Accessory Kit, inside the included Modern hardshell case.
