“Widowed” Les Pauls have been incredibly sought after, and this widow brings something new to the table - the Axcess! Another very popular Les Paul from the Custom Shop’s current lineup, the Les Paul Custom Axcess normally comes in the Bengal Burst finish with gold hardware and features coil-splitable 490R/498T pickups, an ABR-1 bridge, a thinner body (1.8 inches as opposed to the normal 2 inch depth), an apex headstock carve/”axcess” heel carve/belly contour carve, a figured top, Grover keystone tuners, a stopbar tailpiece, and an ebony fretboard with mother-of-pearl block inlays.
This particular Axcess retains the usual, well-loved aspects of the standard Bengal Burst version, but turns up the heat! This Les Paul combines some of the best Custom Shop offerings for one guitar: Axcess + Widow
This special Orange Widow Axcess is an exclusive model designed by Guitarsenal. Custom features include an Orange Widow Burst finish, no inlays on the ebony fretboard, Locking Grover Tuners with Keystone Buttons, Joe Perry style “Goldrush” layout, single BurstBucker 3 bridge pickup with coil-split on the tone control, and a gorgeous 3-piece flamed maple neck. And of course, the flamey AAA figured maple top!
Few Axcess models have received the “widow” treatment in the past, and those that have are usually satin-finished with solid colors and Floyd Rose systems. This Orange Widow Axcess is a step above those with a translucent full gloss finish, highly figured top, and ABR-1 bridge/stopbar tailpiece setup.
