The pickups are now a ‘57 Classic (neck) and ‘57 Classic Plus (bridge) for more traditional Gibson humbucking rock ‘n’ roll tones. The fretboard is now bound and features upscale trapezoid inlays, as found on premium models like the Les Paul Standard. Likewise, the tailpiece layout has been upgraded to an ABR-1\/Stopbar instead of the troublesome wraparound design. The tuners are now Grovers, a vast improvement over the small plastic-buttoned Klusons.
