The Les Custom Axcess from Gibson’s Custom Shop Modern Collection has been one of the most in-demand models since its release in 2019. It is well loved for its combination of modernistic and historic features.
Historic attributes of the Axcess include its figured maple top, mahogany body, mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, gold hardware, long neck tenon, and ABR-1 bridge. The modernistic features include its Axcess heel, thinner body, Apex headstock volute, contoured back of the body, 490R/498T pickup combination, coil split controls, Grover keystone tuners, an exotic iguana burst top finish, and a trans green back finish.
Iguana burst has become a very desirable and sought-after finish - for good reason! The custom color is simply vibrant, eye-catching, and unique. Additionally, it compliments the figuring of the maple beautifully. However, most existing Iguana Burst Les Pauls are just the “regular” variant of the Les Paul Custom, not Axcess models. And, the few existing Axcess variants are equipped with a Floyd Rose - which doesn’t suit most players’ preferences. This iteration of the Iguana Burst Axcess is exclusive to Guitarsenal.
